2043. Shit’s bad. Despite lip service to climate action, the fossil fuel industry continues to thrive. The rich continue to ignore it, isolated in air-conditioned Bubble communities and reaping the benefits of disaster capitalism. But in a roadside bar on the Outside, a group of revolutionaries is about to demand a new story.

Metra: A Climate Revolution with Songs

…is a new musical created by Ned Hartford (book, music, lyrics) and Emily Hartford (book; director). The show received a premiere production with New York City’s Flux Theatre Ensemble in fall 2022 at Abrons Arts Center. An expanded version of the show was presented in a concert reading at Judson in May 2024, starring Tony-nominee Jeannette Bayardelle. Next up: Metra the fiction podcast!
